The Word 121 is a really useful and flexible means for people at all levels of belief. It’s great for those of us who want to understand who Jesus is perhaps for the first time, as well as those whose faith is completely shaped by him – and those in the middle! It can be read together by two people, or a small group; we can do that online or face-to-face.
The very best way of working out whether or not you find this useful or not is simply to try it!
It seems to be such a good resource that we’d like to see as many people to try it out and see if they enjoy it. We’ve therefore delayed the start of our planned Word-One-to-session (which was due to start on 23rd April), and will now start with two taster sessions at 8.15pm on the next two Thursdays: 30th April and 7th May. This should allow you time for the NHS applause.
These two taster sessions are for you if:
- you want to see if they might help you read through John’s Gospel using the aids and helps that ‘the Word One to One’ offers, or
- you want to know what this is like so you could read with another person either now or at some point in the future, or
- you are not a Christian yourself, and you’d like to read a biography about Jesus with others.
Each session will last 45 minutes – you can come to either session, although the second will follow the first. If you can’t make the first session, it really is fine to join the second session. We’ll go through the online resources so you can do this yourself, and look at where you might go for further help if you need it. After the tasters we’ll offer the option of carrying on if any would like to do so.
We’ll use Zoom – please get in contact with me directly (Rob Bridgewater) or email church (firstname.lastname@example.org) or text/call 07968 980554 and we’ll get meeting details straight across to you. Feel free to get in contact for a chat if you are not sure whether to join or not.
