Clearly there will be some for whom the current corona restrictions will bring financial difficulty. The government is already acting to try to provide relief for businesses and individuals – but the expectation remains that many will be hit.
Galatians 6:10 encourages us “therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
For those who need financial support
Now is not a time for pride, and is definitely a time for us to love and support one another. For those who are part of Christ Church Endcliffe, you can make a request for support using this form here. Alternatively you can download this word document and fill that out, then email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. The questions on the form are there to help the Relief Fund team get support to you quickly. Alongside financial support, the team will work with you to ensure there are others alongside you for good advice at this time too.
If you are concerned about someone else within the church family please speak to them, but you might also get in contact with Ed or Rob or their Growth Group leader to request support. Requests to the fund can come through our Growth Groups, or direct to either Ed or Rob. The Relief Fund team is Rob Bridgewater, Anna Evans, Jo Smith and Philip Turner.
For others to support the Relief Fund
At CCE we have a discretionary fund as part of our budget every year, to give financial assistance to those in particular need. This year that fund is £1000, and although it has yet to be used, it could now very quickly be used up.
So for those who can, please consider whether you could give extra towards this fund.
If you are already giving to church, simply send additional money to the same account, adding the reference COVID/Surname (that way our treasurer will know if we can also claim additional Gift Aid).
If you are not currently giving, but would like to donate towards this fund, please email us via “contact us” form on our main website, and we will be in touch to let you know all the details you’ll need.
Money given for this purpose will be used to help people through financial hardship, with a particular emphasis on the current Coronavirus situation. Any excess will be used to help our wider community, or offered for a similar purpose to other churches in the ReNew churches network, with any left remaining in the discretionary fund for future use.
